How to split PDF pages into separate files

Split PDF separates every page of one PDF into its own single-page PDF. The new files are packaged into a ZIP archive so you can download them together.

How to use the Split PDF tool

  1. Select a PDF. Choose one PDF document from your device. Files up to 50 MB are supported.
  2. Choose an output name. Set the name for the ZIP archive.
  3. Split the document. Each page is copied into a separate PDF, in the original page order.
  4. Download the ZIP. Save the archive, then extract it to access the individual page files.

How does Split PDF work?

The tool reads your PDF in the browser, copies each page into a new one-page document, and places the documents in a ZIP file. Your PDF contents are processed locally on your device.

Important limitations

This tool creates one PDF per page; it does not extract a custom page range or combine selected pages into groups. Password-protected, damaged, or unsupported PDFs may fail to open.

Some interactive form fields, annotations, bookmarks, or digital signatures may not be preserved exactly when pages are copied. Check the resulting files before relying on them.

Privacy and file security

Your selected PDF is processed locally in your browser and is not uploaded to PDFArmy. The PDF and ZIP libraries load from third-party CDNs, so an internet connection is needed to load them.

Frequently asked questions

What does Split PDF create?

It creates a separate one-page PDF for every page in your source document, then packages those files in one ZIP archive.

Can I split only selected pages?

This version splits every page into its own file. It does not currently support selecting page ranges.

How do I open the split PDF files?

Download the ZIP archive and extract it with your device's built-in archive tool or another ZIP utility. The numbered PDF files follow the original page order.

Are my PDF files uploaded?

No. The PDF is processed locally in your browser and is not sent to PDFArmy. The required PDF and ZIP libraries are loaded from third-party CDNs.

Will forms, annotations, and signatures be preserved?

Not always. Some interactive features or document-level information may not carry over exactly when pages are copied. Keep the original PDF and inspect the split files.
